Mainport Innovation Fund II (KLM, Schiphol Group, Delft University of Technology, Port of Amsterdam, NS Dutch Railways) invests in Parcompare, a platform that aids a seamless travel experience by connecting mobility solutions such as parking, taxi and public transport to busy destinations around cities, like airports, cruise terminals, event spaces and transport hubs.
Parcompare allows travellers to easily compare and book the modes of transport that best fit their needs, which contributes to a seamless travel and passenger experience. Mobility solutions and resellers in travel can easily plug into the Parcompare platform and get connected to passengers. Parcompare initially focussed on airports and is now expanding to include other highly frequented travel destinations. Parcompare wants to make it easier to travel to, from and around these destinations. So far, the Parcompare platform was launched in three countries. The goal is to cover all of Europe’s busy hubs. The investment will be used to further improve the Parcompare solution and to keep adding new destinations and mobility solutions.
‘Parcompare offers us a one stop shop in a highly fragmented travel business. Through one connection, resellers can get access to our on-airport parking facilities, and book them directly at Schiphol, resulting in a seamless travel experience that is at the forefront of Schiphol’s customer strategy.’ Tanja Dik, Director Consumer Products & Services Schiphol Group
‘We are very excited about the deal with Mainport Innovation Fund. This investment will fuel our growth, financially, but more importantly, also via access to the high value network and expertise of the partners of the fund.’ Sven Snel, CEO Parcompare
‘We have been following Sven for quite some time, and were impressed by his entrepreneurial skills and understanding of the travel market. The contribution of Parcompare to a seamless travel experience fits very well in the focus of our fund and we look forward to building a great business together with Sven and our partners.’ Thijs Gitmans, Fund Manager Mainport Innovation Fund II
