Maarten specialises in corporate law, intellectual property law, and privacy law since 2010. Maarten has worked as attorney-at-law and in-house legal counsel in the health and life sciences sector. He works mainly for investors, knowledge institutes, knowledge transfer offices, and life sciences companies.
Maarten advises clients on investments, spin-offs, research collaborations, mergers, acquisitions, licensing and protection of intellectual property, corporate governance, and commercial contracting.
Maarten is co-author of the book “Collaborations between health organisations” (fall 2019). He is a member of the Dutch Association of Health Law and the Dutch Association Pharma and Law.
Maarten has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas [rechtsgebiedenregister]:
- Health law
- Corporate law (mergers and acquisitions, companies, associations and foundations)
Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
